Standard First Aid (SFA) certification is required upon entry into the program. Students are responsible for ensuring that their certification remains valid and current throughout the duration of the program.
Certification must be obtained through a recognized training provider and maintained in accordance with program requirements.

Blended/Hybrid Learning:
Complete the online portion at your convenience from home
Attend the in-person practical session on your selected date

First-time certification with no prior training:
→ Book Standard First Aid (SFA) with Basic Life Support (BLS)
→ DO NOT book SFA with CPR Level C only
Renewal with valid BLS:
→ Book SFA with CPR Level C
Renewal with expired BLS:
→ Book SFA with BLS
AVERAGE COMPLETION TIME
Approximately 8 hours (blended format)
VALIDITY
Standard First Aid certification: valid for 3 years
Basic Life Support (BLS) component: valid for 1 year only (See Basic Life Support section)

RENEWAL REMINDER
Students are encouraged to book recertification at least 30–60 days before the expiry date or clearance deadline, whichever comes first.
NOTES
Training providers commonly issue Standard First Aid (SFA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) as a combined certification. A certificate of completion will NOT be accepted. Only an official certification is considered valid.

Can I take online Standard First Aid?
Answer: No. We will not accept online Standard First Aid. Please ensure that you are taking your training at a valid and genuine training provider.
Can I use my Standard First Aid training certificate from my workplace?
Answer: Yes, you can use your certificate from your workplace as long as it is not expiring during your intended clinical term.
I don’t know which one to register for. Can you help?
Answer: Please email us a screenshot or the link to the website so we can guide you.
Can I send a completion letter instead of the certificate?
Answer: No, please make sure to book your training early so you can obtain your certificate before your clearance review.
I lost my certificate. What should I do?
Answer: Please contact your training provider directly to request a copy of your certificate. Most providers can reissue digital or printed copies upon request.
