Welcome Future Health Professionals!
Seneca Nanji Foundation School of Nursing
Welcome to the Health Profession! You’re beginning an exciting career.
Like any field, it’s crucial to prioritize health and safety for both professionals and patients. This site will guide you in meeting the health and safety standards established by Ontario law.
The Ontario government, along with placement agencies that facilitate your clinical placements, has set specific medical and non-medical requirements that you must fulfill before starting. These measures are designed to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the individuals you will care for during your placements.
Clinical Permit Accelerator Screening System
We are dedicated to upholding standards of practice by ensuring that students achieve and maintain the necessary certifications and recommended immunization requirements. To this end, students will participate in C-PASS.
C-PASS, or Clinical Permit Accelerator Screening System, is a comprehensive screening process that follows a key timeline and strategies to help students meet and sustain the required certifications and immunization standards set by practice guidelines and legislative mandates. It involves verifying and validating documentation and monitoring status before entering clinical practice.
This system is designed to promote student independence, allowing for a more thoughtful engagement in clinical preparation. To streamline the process and reduce fees and steps involved in meeting your requirements before the deadline, we are introducing Phase 1 of the Clinical Permit Accelerator Screening System.
Why is Clinical Preparedness required?
If you do not meet the Clinical Preparedness requirements by the specified deadline, you will be excluded from clinical placement. This may negatively affect your academic standing.
These requirements are mandatory and non-negotiable. Any deficiencies must be addressed before beginning placement. The student is responsible for all costs, service fees, and fines related to the requirements.
