Influenza is a viral infection affecting the nose, throat, and lungs. It causes symptoms such as cough, high fever, chills, headache, and muscle pain. Influenza is highly contagious and can be life-threatening, with severity varying each year depending on the strain.
The annual influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age and is only available during flu season (October–November).
