Please review the following instructions carefully to complete your Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) application.
Application Deadline
Apply immediately after you have read and understood all the information provided.
Important: You must be physically present in Canada to apply for a VSS in the Toronto Region.
Steps to Apply
1. Prepare your documents
Ensure you have at least one valid government-issued ID ready (e.g., passport, driver’s license, photo card).
2. Apply online
Complete your application using the link below:
https://www2.policesolutions.ca/checks/services/toronto/register.php
Use a personal email address that only you can access.
Check your email regularly for updates from the police.
You may receive confidential communication regarding your background check. These emails may request additional details to verify your identity.
3. Select the Correct Options
Under Report Selection, choose:
Vulnerable Sector Screening
Unpaid Student Placement
Clientele: Elderly, Physically Disabled, Mentally Disabled
Responsibilities: Therapeutic communication, comprehensive assessments, safe care planning, intervention evaluation, and documentation
4. Enter Agency Code
When prompted, enter:
Seneca Polytechnic Agency Code: 202309TPSON92AAE
5. Complete Your Application
Pay the fee of $26.72 CAD.
Answer all authentication questions carefully.
VSS Waiver (Students Under 18)
If you are 17 years old or younger and unable to apply at this time, you may request a VSS Waiver.

As soon as you turn 18, you will be required to apply for a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
VSS Letter (If Requested)
If Toronto Police Services requests a placement/organization letter, please email clinicalrequirements@senecapolytechnic.ca

Program
Postal code
Brief explanation of your request

Your VSS validity starts from the issue date, not the application date.
